  • Define the term 'adult at risk' in relation to Adult Safeguarding
  • Name the 7 categories of abuse and list their common signs and indicators
  • Identify at least 5 barriers that can prevent the effective safeguarding of an adult at risk
  • Know when and to whom suspected abuse should be reportedExplain the 2 criteria required to initiate a Safeguarding Adults Procedure
  • List the 5 principles of Capacity, as outlined within the local Safeguarding Partnership Board Multi-Agency Capacity Policy

Children and adults are best safeguarded when professionals are clear about what is required of them and how they need to work together. The Safeguarding Partnership Board’s role is to  co-ordinate work locally which will safeguard children and adults and to monitor and challenge the effectiveness of Jersey’s safeguarding arrangements.
