Introductory, theory course to recognise deterioration in service users, use the NEWS-2 and RESTORE2 bundles, and escalate concerns using SBARD.

This is a theoretical course only. This course does not qualify you to undertake physiological observations, or to interpret results gained from physiological observations. You must implement the knowledge gained from this course with your current knowledge, skills and qualifications. Knowledge must be utilised in accordance with organisational, local and national guidelines, legislation and policy which governs your practice.

Who Is This Course For?

 Anyone wanting to recognise deterioration in service users, use the NEWS-2 and RESTORE2 bundles, and escalate concerns using SBARD.

Learning Outcomes

  • Understand how to recognise the soft signs of deterioration
  • Understand how to recognise the signs of deterioration in someone with learning disabilities
  • Understand how to fill out a NEWS-2/RESTORE2 chart
  • Understand how to use SBARD as an escalation tool

Assessment

You must gain a minimum of 80% in the end of module assessments in order to gain your certificate for this course. You can attempt the assessments as many times as you would like.
